SNAKE REMOVAL

Unfortunately, there are many people out there who do not understand the reptile world as we do. They have a natural fear of snakes as they are misrepresented throughout the history of man. This page is meant for them.

We offer a service to remove the unwelcome guest from their residential and work places. Before killing the snake, please give us a call to see if it will be possible to get someone out there to relocate the snake.

The process for such a service will be as follows. Usually Reptile Corner would come through to your place and catch the snake. If it is out of our zone we will contact the relevant catcher in your area. From there we would usually return to our premises to give the snake a quick check up and ensure the snake has not been harmed from the ordeal. If there is a medical attention required we would pursue his avenue and treat the snake under supervision of a veterinary practitioner. When the snake has a clean bill of health it would be relocated to a suitable environment where human interaction will be limited to preferably none.

Some catchers do charge a standard rate fee and they will discuss this prior to coming out, we at Reptile Corner ask purely for a donation to assist us in recovering the cost incurred in the process of relocation.

Please note that we do all that we can to safely locate and remove the snake. We do however need some assistance from you as well. DO NOT attempt to catch the snake for yourself if you do not feel comfortable and safe. Best thing is to try and keep an eye out on where the snake goes. If it is in the house try and trap it within that specific room by closing all doors (seal with a wet towel) and windows (do the windows from outside preferably)

Please note: It is illegal to keep indigenous reptiles in Gauteng. You require permits from Gauteng National Conservation to keep, transport and catch indigenous reptiles. We do not benefit financially from indigenous reptiles.

Also we sometimes do not always catch the snake as they could have escaped while we were on our way to the scene.
